here's a close up of the yarn. sorry, it is rainy here so the lighting is bad.

this huge (well you can't tell but it is a big box) of alpaca fiber is going out today!! glad to get rid of it and make someone else happy. traded someone for a yarn i have never tried through a group on ravelry. man you have got to love that site!!!

napoleon is comin along well. i am pretty much finished with the lower back portion. i did the puckers a little differently to help make up for the fact that my gauge is different.
i made the puckers 5 rows of knitting by using short rows so that i wasn't adding too much to the width of the bottom portion. i also made the first 2 puckers 10 stitches long, the 3rd and 5th puckers 12 stitches long, the center one 14 stitches long and the last 2 back to 10 stitches. in the pattern they are all 10 stitches long. i didn't like that. but i liked the way they now form a V. we will see how well that works out for the final look.

I love reading blogs- they are so full of inspiration. Some people are such excellent photographers and story-tellers. It's such fun to read what others are doing and making! =)

  4. I love to know what other people are thinking about. I also love to read about peoples days and the patterns (if they knit) and find recipes (if they like to cook and bake).
It is actually a good place to learn things.

  7. All gorgeous! I like getting inspiration from various people; I also seem to read some blogs just to enjoy other people's lives (http://allweneedisamor.blogspot.com/ for hilarious baby photos, for example), or to learn stuff (Language Log's linguistics bits). And I like having all these "imaginary friends."

  8. I'm not a blogger myself, but I like reading blogs because they're inspiring and because I learn a lot from them.

  9. Congrats on making it to 100 posts! I love blogging for a number of reasons: I'm getting way more projects finished since starting my own blog (!), and connecting with a whole lot of people with similar interests who I would never have met otherwise is also great. I love the positivity and encouragement amongst the crafty bloggy community, and that it really is a community!

  10. I remeber the very early days of the net, when it wasn't all about the Benjamins. People shared their creativity freely, and you could always get advice on just about any subject. Blogging is the what the keeps the web from being just another rundown, seedy stip-mall.
